Drawing Practice

I've been practicing freehand portrait sketches. Tried with no guidelines at all, what I'd like to be able to do eventually. Then these three with 1 vertical and three or four horizontal guidelines. Then shaded them enough so I could see how accurate the sketch was. Now back to doing some with no guides as an exercise. Doing these exercises as I switch back to doing some oil on canvas paintings. And trying to make the most tedious part of the painting process (to me) more interesting and fun.
And testing some different paper for pencil sketching.
